Before sweets and snacks are ready for the market, key decisions are taken – regarding recipes, production processes, packaging solutions and efficiency. This was precisely what ProSweets Cologne from 1 to 4 February 2026 in Cologne concentrated on. As the only trade fair worldwide with a clear focus on the supply industry for sweets and snacks, together with ISM and the newly-established ISM Ingredients, it gathered together around 1,800 exhibitors and 32,500 trade visitors. Together the three events covered the entire value chain of the sweets and snacks industry – from raw materials and ingredients, to packaging and production through to the marketable product. At the same time, the foundation for the further development of the trade fair portfolio was laid: As of 2027, ProSweets Cologne will become part of the joint umbrella brand ISM, under the new name ISM Manufacturing.

Complete spectrum of offers of the supplier industry
In its regular cycle, ProSweets Cologne 2026 presented itself as a compact and focused trade fair format. The entire spectrum of offers of the international supplier industry was showcased in four clearly defined theme worlds – World of Packaging Materials, World of Packaging Technology, World of Production Technology as well as World of Operating Equipment & Auxiliary Devices. The clear structure ensured an efficient visitor guidance, facilitated the orientation and supported targeted business development along the entire value chain.

ProSweets Cologne 2026 made a bold statement with the strong presence of leading machinery and plant manufacturers, who were represented with large stand areas. Companies like VEMAG Maschinenbau GmbH, Maschinenfabrik Seydelmann KG, LIVE-TECH s.r.l., Wolf Spezialmaschinen GmbH, SELMI Chocolate Machinery Srl, Rovema GmbH, Kremers Verpackungsmaschinen GmbH & Co. KG and ULMA Packaging presented innovative solutions for the high-performance, efficient and future-oriented production and packaging of sweets and snacks.

International orientation and global supply chains under focus
With a 69 percent share of foreign exhibitors, ProSweets Cologne 2026 underlined its international focus. The countries with the highest participations included Germany, Turkey, Italy and the Netherlands. Beyond this, group stands from China and Italy were represented. The high level of internationality reflected both the global orientation of the sweets and snacks industry as well as the growing significance of international supply chains and technological partnerships.

Future themes characterised the offerings and content
In terms of contents, ProSweets Cologne 2026 clearly placed the focus on the key challenges facing the industry. Artificial intelligence, digitalisation, sustainable packaging solutions, increasing production efficiency as well as regulatory requirements – including the EU Packaging Regulation PPWR – were the centre of attention of the offerings and the accompanying events.

With a clearly focused event programme, ProSweets Cologne, ISM Ingredients and ISM set content-related highlights. The Expert Stage once again served as the central knowledge hub for examples of best practice in everyday industrial life. The programme was enhanced by the Talks & Tasting Stage. This interactive stage combined lectures with product tastings, live podcasts and creator formats, fostering a lively exchange between the industry, start-ups and industry experts.

Promoting young talent, knowledge transfer and networking
A further programme highlight was the DLG Careers Day on 1 February 2026, which specifically addressed students and young professionals. Young professionals took advantage of this opportunity to engage in a direct exchange with leading companies of the supplier industry and learn about career paths, qualifications and entry opportunities.

Practical packaging workshops in cooperation with pacoon on themes like packaging, AI and PPWR, as well as thematic guided tours and interactive formats rounded off the specialised programme. The ProSweets Cologne Party in Hall 10.1 on 2 February 2026 once again offered the opportunity for an intensive, personal exchange and brought the second day of the trade fair to a pleasant close in a relaxed atmosphere.

Strong support from the industry
ProSweets Cologne 2026 was accompanied and supported by key industry associations, including the Federal Association of the German Sweets Industry (BDSI), Sweets Global Network e.V., the German Agricultural Society (DLG e.V.) and the Central College of the German Sweets Industry e.V. (ZDS). Together they underscored the significance of the trade fair as an international platform for innovation, knowledge transfer and networking.

The trade fair trio in figures
1,790 exhibiting companies from 75 countries participated in ISM, ISM Ingredients and ProSweets Cologne 2026. Foreign exhibitors accounted for 85 percent of the
total. In total, around 32,500 trade visitors from 140 countries attended the trade fairs, the foreign share was 71 percent.

As of 2027: ProSweets Cologne will be renamed ISM Manufacturing
From 2027 onwards, ISM will, for the first time, unite all sections of the international sweets and snacks industry under a joint umbrella brand. With ISM, ISM Ingredients and ISM Manufacturing, a seamless, clearly structured and inspiring trade fair experience will be created - from the ingredients and the production through to the finished product. In this way, the industry's entire value chain will be united under one strong brand, which will significantly enhance the experience for the exhibitors and visitors.

The first edition of ISM Manufacturing is scheduled to take place from 31 January to 3 February 2027.

La structure transparente a contribué à la gestion efficace du flux des visiteurs, amélioré la visibilité du marché et optimisé la prospection commerciale tout au long de la chaîne de valeur.

Avec une proportion d'exposants étrangers de 69 %, ProSweets Cologne 2026 a prouvé que leur internationalité était à la hauteur de son ambition. L'Allemagne, la Turquie, l'Italie et les Pays-Bas comptaient parmi les pays les plus représentés. À noter par ailleurs des participations collectives d'entreprises de Chine et d'Italie. La forte internationalité reflétait l'orientation mondiale de l'industrie de la confiserie et du snacking de même que l'importance croissante des chaînes d'approvisionnement internationales et des partenariats technologiques.

L'offre et les contenus proposés s'approprient les thèmes de demain
Sur le plan des contenus, ProSweets Cologne 2026 a clairement mis l'accent sur les défis majeurs auxquels est confrontée la branche d'activité. L'offre et les événements proposés par le salon étaient centrés sur l'intelligence artificielle, la numérisation, les solutions d'emballage durables, les gains de productivité de même que les exigences réglementaires – dont le règlement européen (UE) relatif aux emballages et déchets d'emballages, connu sous le nom de « PPWR ».

Avec un programme d'événements clairement focalisé sur certains aspects des choses, ProSweets Cologne, ISM Ingredients et ISM ont défini des priorités thématiques. L'Expert Stage a été une fois de plus un pôle central de connaissances pour un partage des bonnes pratiques industrielles au quotidien. Le programme a été complété par des entretiens et des dégustations. Sur le plateau interactif, des conférences spécialisées alternaient avec des dégustations de produits, des podcasts en direct et des formats de créateurs, d'où des échanges animés entre les représentants de l’industrie, des start-up et des professionnels de la confiserie et du snacking.

Encouragement des jeunes talents, transfert de savoir et réseautage
Le DLG Careers Day, le 1er février 2026, qui ciblait les étudiants et les jeunes professionnels, était un vrai temps fort du programme. Les candidats à la relève ont profité de l'occasion pour dialoguer directement avec des fournisseurs, à la tête d'entreprises industrielles de premier plan, et pour s'informer sur les parcours de carrière, les qualifications et les possibilités d'embauche.

Des ateliers axés sur la pratique, en collaboration avec pacoon et ayant pour thèmes le packaging, l'IA et le PPWR, des visites guidées thématiques et des formats interactifs ont complété le programme spécialisé. La soirée ProSweets Cologne, le 2 février 2026, dans le hall 10.1, a de nouveau donné lieu à des entretiens personnels approfondis et permis de terminer la deuxième journée de salon dans une atmosphère détendue.

ProSweets Cologne 2026 a bénéficié de l’accompagnement et du soutien de grandes associations professionnelles dont la Fédération allemande de l'industrie de la confiserie (Bundesverband der Deutschen Süßwaren-Industrie e.V. – BDSI), Sweets Global Network e.V., la Deutsche Landwirtschaftsgesellschaft e.V. (DLG) et l'École centrale de formation professionnelle de la confiserie allemande (Zentralfachschule der Deutschen Süßwarenwirtschaft e. V. – ZDS). Ensemble, elles ont souligné l'importance du salon en tant que plateforme internationale de l'innovation, du transfert de savoir et du réseautage.

À partir de 2027, ProSweets Cologne s'appellera ISM Manufacturing
À partir de 2027, ISM regroupera pour la première fois tous les secteurs de l'offre de confiserie et de snacking sous une même marque ombrelle. L'association d'ISM, d'ISM Ingredients et d'ISM Manufacturing permettra de vivre une expérience de salon cohérente et inspirante – des ingrédients au produit fini en passant par la production. C'est ainsi que toute la chaîne de valeur du secteur de la confiserie et du snacking sera chapeautée par une marque forte, ce qui permettra aux exposants et aux visiteurs de l'appréhender de manière encore plus efficace.

Precisamente en estas cuestiones se centró la reciente edición de ProSweets Cologne, celebrada en Colonia del 1 al 4 de febrero de 2026. Como única feria del mundo enfocada claramente en los proveedores del sector de la confitería y los snacks, y junto a ISM y la recién creada ISM Ingredients, reunió a cerca de 1 800 expositores y 32 500 visitantes profesionales. En conjunto, los tres eventos abarcaron toda la cadena de valor de la industria de la confitería y los snacks: desde las materias primas y los ingredientes, pasando por el envasado y la producción, hasta el producto listo para el mercado. Con un 69 % de expositores procedentes del extranjero, ProSweets Cologne 2026 subrayó su carácter internacional. Entre los países con mayor representación, además de Alemania, se encontraban Turquía, Italia y los Países Bajos. Además, también se contó con participaciones colectivas de China e Italia. El alto grado de internacionalidad reflejó la orientación global de la industria de la confitería y los snacks, así como la creciente importancia de las cadenas de suministro internacionales y de las colaboraciones tecnológicas.

Temas clave del futuro definen la oferta y los contenidos
En cuanto a los contenidos del programa de eventos, ProSweets Cologne 2026 se centró claramente en los retos clave del sector. La inteligencia artificial, la digitalización, las soluciones de envasado sostenibles, el aumento de la eficiencia productiva, así como los requisitos regulatorios -entre ellos el Reglamento sobre los envases y los residuos de los envases de la UE (PPWR, por sus siglas en inglés), fueron temas centrales de la oferta y de los eventos paralelos.

Con un programa de eventos claramente definido, ProSweets Cologne, ISM Ingredients e ISM marcaron la pauta de los contenidos. La tribuna de expertos Expert Stage volvió a actuar como centro de conocimiento para las mejores prácticas en el día a día de la industria. El programa se complementó con el Talks & Tasting Stage, escenario interactivo que combina presentaciones de expertos con catas de productos, podcasts en vivo y formatos dirigidos por creadores, fomentando así un intercambio dinámico entre la industria, las empresas emergentes y los expertos del sector.

Promoción de jóvenes talentos, transferencia de conocimientos y establecimiento de contactos
Un punto culminante del programa fue el DLG Careers Day, celebrado el 1 de febrero de 2026 y dirigido específicamente a estudiantes y jóvenes profesionales que buscan desarrollar su carrera. Los jóvenes talentos aprovecharon la oportunidad para hablar directamente con empresas líderes del sector de los proveedores e informarse sobre sus trayectorias profesionales, cualificaciones y oportunidades de incorporación.

El programa especializado se completó con talleres prácticos de envasado en colaboración con pacoon, sobre temas como el embalaje, la IA y el PPWR; visitas guiadas temáticas, y formatos interactivos. La fiesta ProSweets Cologne Party, celebrada el 2 de febrero de 2026 en el pabellón 10.1, brindó una vez más la oportunidad para un intenso intercambio personal y, de forma distendida, puso el broche final al segundo día de la feria.

Fuerte apoyo del sector
ProSweets Cologne 2026 contó con el apoyo de importantes asociaciones del sector, como la Federación de la Industria Alemana de Confitería (BDSI/Bundesverband der Deutschen Süßwaren-Industrie e.V.), la asociación Sweets Global Network e.V., la Sociedad Alemana de Agricultura (DLG/Deutsche Landwirtschaftsgesellschaft, e.V.) y la Escuela Profesional de la Industria Alemana de Confitería (ZDS/Zentralfachschule der Deutschen Süßwarenwirtschaft e.V.). Juntos, destacaron la importancia de la feria como plataforma internacional para la innovación, la transferencia de conocimientos y el establecimiento de redes de contacto.

El trío ferial en cifras
Un total de 1 790 empresas de 75 países han participado en ISM, ISM Ingredients y ProSweets Cologne 2026, un 85 por ciento de las cuales procedían del extranjero. A la feria asistieron unos 32 500 visitantes profesionales de 140 países, con una participación internacional del 71 %. 

A partir de 2027 ProSweets Cologne será ISM Manufacturing
A partir de 2027, ISM unificará por primera vez todos los ámbitos de la industria internacional de la confitería y los snacks bajo una única marca paraguas. Con ISM, ISM Ingredients e ISM Manufacturing se creará una experiencia ferial integrada, claramente estructurada e inspiradora, que abarcará desde los ingredientes y la producción hasta el producto final. De este modo, toda la cadena de valor del sector quedará agrupada bajo una marca sólida, lo que hará que sea aún más accesible y eficiente tanto para los expositores como para los visitantes.

La primera edición de ISM Manufacturing tendrá lugar del 31 de enero al 3 de febrero de 2027.
